The island of Martha's Vineyard is served by several elementary schools, one high-school, and one charter school.

Martha's Vineyard Regional High School is the only public secondary school on the Island, with the exception of a local charter school that serves thirty high school students.

There are 814 students in the high school (2009) involved in a wide variety of academic and enrichment classes, as well as advanced placement, vocational, and special education programs.

The Regional High School boasts a budget with one of the highest per student expenditures in Massachusetts.

MCAS scores for 2009 show MVRHS ranking above average. Every year, the school sends approximately 60% of its students to four year colleges and 25% to two year colleges and trade schools.

Although there is no physical college located on Martha's Vineyard, there are still a variety of collegiate opportunities available.
